Tooth Extraction in Inglewood
Sometimes the best option for treating an oral health problem is tooth extraction. We try to preserve natural teeth as much as possible, but in certain cases, extraction becomes necessary in order to prevent further complications. Dentists and oral surgeons can help prevent further infections and tooth pain by extracting your teeth with the use of local or general anesthetic.
Wisdom Tooth Extraction
One of the most common tooth extraction procedures is wisdom tooth removal. Your four wisdom teeth usually come in as a young adult in the back of your mouth, and though there is a chance that they won’t cause issues, it is highly likely that you’ll encounter some complications and require removal. Those complications are usually recurring infections or your mouth being too small to fit the teeth. When you get them removed, your dentist or surgeon will use an anesthetic to numb your mouth before beginning and then will use pressure to remove the teeth from your mouth before sewing up the holes.
How to Prepare For Extraction
An awesome way to prepare for extraction is by asking your dentist questions and finding out what you can about the procedure. The more you know, the more you can prepare. You may need to alter your eating and drinking routines ahead of your appointment and potentially your medications as well. It is also important to make transportation arrangements as you cannot drive yourself home after an extraction.
