Root Canals in Inglewood
At Inglewood Dental, we provide low-stress root canal procedures as needed to help relieve pain, improve oral health, and prevent further complications. Root canals are usually needed when your teeth become damaged—whether they are cracked, chipped or otherwise infected. If the infected roots are left untreated, they could result in tooth extractions or abscesses, which become more complex to handle.
How Root Canals Work
Root canals typically begin with local anesthesia to numb the area for the procedure. Then rubber will be put in place to keep the area dry. Next, the dentist will use a drill to open up the tooth to access the root. The root will then be cleaned out using special files to remove the infection. After, the tooth will be sealed up and will require follow-up appointments and time to heal.
When Do You Need a Root Canal?
When should you come to the dentist and ask about root canals? There are a few symptoms that should prompt you to call us and ask about treatment. These symptoms include biting and chewing pain, painful gums, temperature sensitivity, gum pimples, discoloured or inflamed gums, and chipped or cracked teeth. If you start noticing any of these things going on in your mouth, give Inglewood Dental a call.
